The 10K Freefoil Challenge is a community endurance challenge created to inspire human-powered exploration by foil. It’s about leaving the dock, committing to a journey, and making it back under your own power. It is a challenge that will push both your fitness and your comfort zone - and take you further than you thought possible.

The Rules

The Journey:
- Complete a 10 km round-trip pumpfoil journey, stopping and relaunching as much as you like.

The Requirements:
- 10 km on foil under human power — no kites, motors, surfing or downwind-only routes. Only distance traveled while pumpfoiling counts toward the 10 km total.
- Journey at least 2 km away from your starting point — the challenge is intended as a journey, not a series of laps around a single location.
- The route must finish where it started — short swims and walks are part of the adventure, but long hikes, bike rides, or shuttles back do not count.

The Proof:
- Record your session with
FoilMotion or
Foil Sessions to automatically validate your journey and earn a digital 10K badge*. If you use another GPS app, estimate the distance of your foiling route and count only the distance traveled on foil.
- Post your proof online with the hashtag #Freefoil10K. Inspire others by sharing stories, photos and highlights from your journey!
- Register your successful 10K journey here to receive your 10K badge by mail and be added to the finishers gallery below.

The Spirit of the Rules: FoilMotion and Foil Sessions use algorithms to help enforce the rules, but when in doubt, remember the spirit of the challenge: go on a 10km pumpfoil journey. Leave the dock, explore, and make it back under your own power.
