Summit Essentials
Food
- Signup: Please RSVP to signup for lunch and dinner reservations.
- Snacks: Please bring your own snacks and drinks for the foiling events. On Saturday snacks will be available for purchase with cash from Pumpfoil Club Austria.
- Breakfasts: Participants are responsible for their own breakfast. The Das Jo Hotel serves breakfast each morning in time for the events.
- Lunch: on Friday and Saturday lunch will be provided free of charge for the participants — picnic lunch on Friday, pizza on Saturday. On Sunday, lunch will be available for purchase on site.
- Dinner: each evening we have a group reservation at a restaurant so that we can all eat together. Dinner costs are the responsibility of participants.
Gear List
- Life jacket: A life jacket or impact vest is recommended for all events, and is mandatory for participation in the 5K/10K. Ion vests will be available for purchase at the event at a 30% discount.
- Water shoes: I highly recommed a sturday pair of water shoes for the freefoiling parts of the event. It makes it safer and more enjoyable when you're walking the shorline looking for a place to launch. I use Vibram FiveFinger V-Alpha's, and have also hear good things about WIP Sneakers and Hydrotec shoes.
- Bright clothing: Bright colored hats (like the Wake Thief hat) or shirts are highly recommended so that you are visible to boats on the lake.
- Wetsuit: The water temperatures is predicted to be between 18°C and 20°C with air temperatures between 24°C and 30°C. Bring clothing or wetsuits appropriate for full days on the water.
- Foil: Remember to bring your foil — the bigger the better for easier rock starts and long endurance!

Detailed Schedule of Events
Thursday
On Thursday evening we will gather at the Das Jo Hotel back terrace for introductions, dinner and drinks. If you arrive early, come down to the water at Sallacher Strandbad and we will be hanging out and foiling with the Pump Foil Club Austria.
- Afternoon: foiling at Sallacher Standbad.
- 19:00: Welcome dinner and drinks at the Das Jo Hotel back terrace.
Friday
On Friday we will spend the day at Fortsee, a nearby alpine like filled with natural launch features. Think of this day like a moving dock-start party, where spend time working on starts in a certain area, before moving on to explore another area. Today is about learning from each other, and getting comfortable looking for natural starting features. To get ready for this day make sure to work on your knee starts! Also, please understand that with natural starts there is a risk of scratching your foil. Lastly, today is not about endurance, so don't burn yourself out for the rest of the summit!!
Note: The schedule has been updated due to heavy rain around noon. We're now doing an early morning session and an afternoon session, with lunch in between.
- 8:00: leave from the Das Jo Hotel for the first session at Fortsee.
- 10:00: return from Fortsee.
- 11:30: leave from the Das Jo Hotel for lunch.
- 13:30: After lunch we will go straight to Forstsee for the afternoon session.
- 18:30: 5K / 10K briefing at the Das Jo.
- 19:00: BBQ dinner at the Das Jo Restaurant (map link).
Saturday
On Saturday morning we launch the 10K Freefoil Challenge: an global online challenge designed to inspire exploration by foil. We will ride together as a group, starting at Sallacher Strandbad and meeting up at several collection points along the route. The 5km route will have dock-launch points every 500m, including support boats. The 10km route will have an extra support boat for safety, but with much longer legs between launch points. Snacks and drinks will be available along the route. It is mandatory to ride with a life vest and to stay together with the group.
In the afternoon, we will stay at Sallacher Strandbad for a dock-start and boat party with Pump Foil Club Austria.
- 7:30: Meet at Sallacher Strandbad.
